English speaking religous services

Regular Anglican church services are held in English in Ljubljana, usually led by a member of Christ Church, Vienna. The services take place about once per month, usually starting at 18:00. Services are held at the homes of members of English speaking community. The services follow an order-of-service of the Church of England, but the small congregation comes from a wide range of denominational backgrounds, and all English speakers are welcome.

A non-denominational English-speaking Protestant evangelical church, the International Church of Ljubljana, has a worship service and children’s Sunday school every Sunday at 17:00 (18:00 June-August).  They meet at Celovška cesta 70 (in the Ljubljana Binkoštna cerkev building).  For further information contact: www.ljchurch.net. International Church of Ljubljana: Todd Hunnicutt at 031-438-013 (itisus@k2.net) or Don Green at +386 41 228 779(donald.green@k2.net).

English speaking people living in Slovenia, or just visiting, can attend an English language service at St. Mary's Chapel of St Joseph's Church in Ljubljana. It is an international Mass most often presided by Fr. Damjan Ristić SJ (Society of Jesus). This service would give an opportunity for foreign Christians living in Slovenia to worship in a language they understand best. At the same time it offers an opportunity for Christians to socialise and to support each other in prayer and deed. This service would aim to be inclusive and offer non-Roman Catholic Christians the chance to participate in Christian worship in accordance with agreements between different Churches. A special sheet with the text of the Order of the Mass in English will be provided to each participant in order for them to be able to fully participate.

The service takes place every Sunday at 5:30pm in St. Mary's chapel of St Joseph's Church in Ljubljana, Janeza Pavla II. 13

For inquiries about  English-speaking liturgies for various religious denominations: Muslim, Catholic, Orthodox, Jewish, Buddhist, Protestant, etc. contact Fr. Ristić, a well-known Jesuit ecumenist and inter-religious dialogue person (mobile: +386 31 888 493, email: damjanristic@gmail.com).
