British Council
The British Council is the UK's international organisation for educational and cultural relations and works in 110 countries around the world. Their purpose is to build engagement and trust for the UK through the exchange of knowledge and ideas between people worldwide. In Slovenia, the British Council has been operating since 1992.
The foucus of British Council activity in Slovenia is on next generation leaders and influencers, who they want to support by connecting them with innovative people, institutions and ideas from the UK and other countries in the region.
British Council's work in Slovenia focuses on three programme areas :
- building creative and responsible societies in Europe,
- developing education and skills for a prosperous Europe,

British Council also offers a wide range of UK examinations so that Slovenians can gain internationally recognised UK qualifications in English language and othe academic or business subjects.

Darwin now
Darwin now is the British Council's contribution to the celebration of 200th anniversary of Charles Darwin's birth and the 150th anniversary of the publication of On the Origin of Species.
